Welcome to this holy, sacred journey with Jesus ...

I invite you to choose any one of the gospels and read the Passion story as the week unfolds.

Listen closely to the story of Jesus of Nazareth and the events that led to his death. I invite you to imagine yourself as as each person who encounters Jesus in this story -- Judas, Peter, Pilate, Simon of Cyrene, the women on the road to Calvary, the women at the foot of the Cross -- what would it be for you to encounter Jesus on his way to Calvary.

Joan calls us to reflect on the truth of this journey of Jesus to his death. “The scene is a clear one: After three years of doing good for the world around him, Jesus was hated by the institutions whose authority he threatened -- after preaching a better world, feeding a new flame of faith in the people, confronting injustice wherever it was, healing the wounded, bringing the hearts of a people back to life. Everyone around Jesus had to make a choice – save themselves or follow the will of God, the truth of God, the heart of God by following Jesus of Nazareth.” The same choice is ours today …
