Monasteries of the Heart

This community meets every Thursday at 6:30 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in South Minneapolis. Our gathering follows a simple routine starting with a chant from the Psalms. We then read a chapter from Monastery of the Heart out loud. This is followed by 20 minutes of silent prayer, 10 minutes of walking meditation and another 10 minutes of silence. We then recite together the "Prayer of Those Who Dwell in a Monastery of the Heart". After this we sit and talk about the chapter, our lives, the world and our spiritual paths. Usually we are done about 8:15 to 8:30. We have plans to have dinner together once in a while but have not started that yet. Also we are each contemplating how we would like the group to engage in "Good Work" and have decided to make this decision together when we get to the chapter of that name. There are 7 consistent members of the group at this time. We welcome others from the greater twin cities community who are interested in living into a community experience of the Monastery of the Heart. All are welcome!
